Hello, world,
My name is Elle. I am a friend of the Diaz family and I wanted to share their story and start a fundraiser in support of baby Elias. Marc & Aly have experienced what no parent ever wants to go through especially when it's your first child. On November 28th Aly was admitted to St. Charles Hospital in Bend with complications with her pregnancy. She was only 24 weeks pregnant at the time. She was able to be on bed rest but her son was ready to meet the world. On December 5th, 2022 Elias was born! He went against all odds from birth! The doctors said he wouldn't cry if he was born this early, but he came out screaming. He wouldn't weigh more than a pound, he was 1 pound 14oz. From the get-go, the little guy was born a fighter! After delivery, he was admitted to the NICU where he was just at the beginning phases of his challenges to overcome. He ended up with meningitis from his PICC line. Thankfully they were able to get that under control. After that, he got an unfortunate diagnosis of Hydrocephalus. He was then airlifted to Randall Hospital in Portland on January 10th. His current state is fragile and he is currently fighting for his life. Marc, Aly, and all their friends have been praying that he doesn't have to get brain surgery. With all of this going on and now being in Portland, Marc has been unable to work and is currently on OFMLA. However, with the current situation, he is facing having to go back to work in Redmond, leaving his newborn son and wife alone. I wanted to help them out and allow him more time to be with his baby and wife while they see what needs to happen. The timeline is uncertain, but if he can get through his OFMLA time, that would be a huge help. Times are hard right now, especially for this wonderful couple. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Any donations are extremely appreciated. They will be going directly to the Diaz family.
Sincerely,
Elle
