Urgent Aid for Fire-Displaced Family

Hi everyone. I’m Crystal. My mom Lisa, my sister Shantel, her boyfriend, and her three kids live with my mom in Brook Park, Ohio. My mom is handicapped, does not walk, cannot get around, and is 100% bedbound.

So this morning around 7:30 AM, the furnace caught fire. Thank goodness my mom‘s full-time health aide smelled something burning and woke my sister up. They were able to get out all the pets and themselves. Unfortunately, my mom being 100% handicapped, they weren't able to get her out quickly. The police had to get my mother out by dragging her; they did what they had to do, and we are very lucky for that.

I’m not sure of the extent of the damage, other than lots of black smoke. They are all currently being treated at a local hospital, and my mom cannot return to the home without heat and with the damage. Nor can my sister and the kids. It’s wintertime in Ohio and very cold. The furnace needs to be replaced and a ton of cleanup is required. What I want to raise funds for is to get everyone a safe place to stay for a week, as well as get the furnace replaced and fix all the damage from the fire. Thank you.
