Hello everyone! My name is Samantha and I am setting up this account because my boyfriend and I need help. For some insight I'll let you know a little about us.
Tim and I met in highschool about 8 years ago. We became best friends. He has always loved me and I have always loved him. We separated for about 3 years and dated other people. This was due to the fact that I went off to college while he stayed in our home town.
I moved back home after about a year and a half at school becuase I could not afford to keep going. We caught up again but just briefly as I started a serious relationship with someone else. Turns out the whole time Tim still loved me. Well after that relationship ended we got back together. Tim told me he never stopped loving me. We pretty much picked up right where we left off.
It has been 3 years since he told me he still loved me. And in that three years he has become an electrician and bought us a house and a puppy to call our own. I have started school again and have been working as a server to make ends meet. I hope to graduate so I can have a career instead of a job. Also mainly so I can contribute more to our life together, just like he does. We have been wanting to get married for a long time but can not afford it just yet. And this year I may have set us back even further. That is why I am asking for your help.
In September I turned 26 years old. I have always been on my mothers insurance, which was great! Now that I am 26 I can no longer be on her policy and I can not afford my own insurance. Normally I am very healthy. I eat balanced meals and exercise regularly. However, I have always had terrible knees. When I was in the eighth grade playing soccer I tore my ACL in my left knee. Now, a little over ten years later, I have twisted my left knee. It was a fluke accident really. I was tying my left shoe with my foot up on the counter when my right knee twisted and buckled underneath me. I fell flat on my tailbone. My knees twist like this quite frequently. Normally I stand back up after a few minutes and the pain goes away; this time was very different however. It was the worst pain I have ever felt. Even more than when I tore my left ACL. Luckily this time I didn't tear anything. I have recieved news from the doctor about what she sees in my MRI. I popped my knee cap out of place and back in. This has caused some loss of cartilage and some tearing in a few ligaments, but I don't need surgery. I need to be in a brace to keep my knee straight for at least two months. So I will be out of work.
So far I have had to pay out of pocket for an MRI, two ER visits, and an orthopedic visit. The ortho doctor told me that I woud most likely be out for 6 months. I am currently trying to apply for medicaid but becuase of my job I am barely over the limit to qualify. Without being able to work the medical assistant suggested I should try and apply again after a few $0 dollar income statements roll in. Hopefully I can recieve medicaid and it will help reemburse me the money I have already spent. I have recently found out that I can get on Tim's insurance and plan on doing so. Hopefully that will help pay for my physical therapy the doctor also said I will need in the future.
If I could raise $2,000 dollars I would be emensly greatful. I have donated and now understand what it feels like to be on the other end. I have no other option. I hate the stress I have put on my other half. He already does so much for me. I am just trying to raise enough money to keep us going until I can go back to work. I do not want to lose everything we have worked so hard for. So please understand that this is a last resort for me and normally I am too prideful to accept money from others. I know many have worse situations than I, but I would appreciate any help at all. Thank you all so much for taking the time out of your day to read my story and plea.
