For 15 Years, Jazz Mafia has been looked ot as one of the most ambitious, prolific and imaginative musical collectives on the West Coast and beyond. The JM has made it's mark by bringing a vast range of unlikely combinations of live instrumentation to stages in small clubs to the largest Jazz Festivals in North America.
We want to raise money to release 30 new songs; 1 new song released every day in the month of February. We want to do something extra special for our 15th Anniversary; Rather than putting all our energy into a one-time live show, the idea is to bring that same ambitious/collaborative spirit to the studio and release a constantly-flowing stream of mind-bending music to the world.
The money from this campaign will go directly to pay production costs of engineering, mixing and mastering the music as well as some artwork.
Most of the music is already recorded but we need the funding for this in the next week to be able to book the engineers to get the songs ready for release.
To be able to reach our goal and share this music with our fans and music-lovers around the World would really energize our efforts here at the new Jazz Mafia Compund recording studio. We plan to be producing a lot more content in 2016 and doing even bigger things, so it would mean so much to show the musicians and everyone inviolved that there is a general support from you, the listeners, for new, ambititous, creative music played on real instruments.
I believe in this project and vision so much that I'm personally donating my time to produce this project and see it through it's completion.
