NTA Wrestling Team 2016-17

NTA Wrestling is getting ready to start its second season and we need some support to make this a great experience for our kids.
For our first season, our twenty five, 5th though 8th graders practiced for 4 hours per week for just shy of 3 months in their bare feet and socks. They put in a great deal of hard work and improved greatly and are excited to get started this year.
Last year, we were unable to compete outside of our practice room and did not have headgear or shoes for the kids. Headgear protects the kids' ears from becoming deformed and shoes help protect the wrestling mats that were generously donated. (street shoes cannot be worn on the wrestling mats).
Funds raised here will be used to help purchase shoes, headgear and IKWF cards (Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation, which lets them participate in tournaments). We would also like to take our wrestlers to see a college and high school match as a team to see what the next levels of the sport look like.
NTA (National Teachers Academy) is a Chicago Public School serving a majority of underprivileged children. The team's volunteer coaches are Emmanuel Sally and Taki Miller.
