Dear friends and neighbors,

My 18-year old sister Leila was involved in a serious accident recently. This has resulted in significant financial hardship for my family - my mother is already suffering from a terminal illness and has high medical bills, while my stepfather is on a fixed income and doing his best to prepare their long time home in Napa for sale so that they can move somewhere
more affordable.

These new expenses have created a terrible situation in which my family will have to choose between paying their mortgage, medical bills, or for legal representation for my sister. The  lawyer’s fee is $7500, or two months’ income for my family. 

Leila is a kind and sweet girl who has had a long series of painful and unfortunate life events working against her. Any support that you can give to her and my family is deeply appreciated.
