At 12:45AM I got a call from my sister and brother in law that her water had broke at 37 weeks. She rushed to the hospital and found out she needed an emergency c section due to my niece being breech. The welcomed their daughter into the world at 3:32 AM. Just a few hours later, around 9AM, a box truck slams into their home and foundation, leaving them without a home to bring their new baby girl home to. My brother in law has spent his first days as a dad on the phone with insurance companies trying to find them a hotel as Pittsburgh is welcoming a popular artist next week and is entirely booked. They will be discharged to an Airbnb they found nearby that they have currently paid for out of pocket where they will begin the process of what comes next. With the expenses, stress, and loss they are and will experience because of this - I’ve put this together because in a no way coincidental emergency, they need all the help they can get.
