Paradise Palms Historic Sign Toppers

In February 2017 a portion of Paradise Palms became the first Historic Neighborhood in unincorporated Clark County, and in April 2022 the entirety of Paradise Palms was unanimously incorporated within an Historic Neighborhood Overlay by the Clark County Commission making it one of the largest historic neighborhoods in the state of Nevada. As a result of that designation, Clark County Title 30.48.1070 allows for "Upon designation of a Historic Neighborhood, project identification signs may be provided to distinguish the neighborhood."
Paradise Palms began working with the Clark County Commission District E offices in 2017 to arrive at a solution to implement these signs, and with the help of our Commissioner, we installed 27 street sign 'toppers', which are street sign-sized signs that sit on every street sign pole within the original Historic Neighborhood Overlay. These signs were a first in Clark County and feature the Paradise Palms Logo and read, "Paradise Palms, A Clark County Historic Neighborhood, est. 1960" on our signature Paradise Palms blue background.
Now that the entirety of the neighborhood has received historic recognition, Paradise Palms is working on raising funds to install sign toppers on the remaining 76 street sign locations in the community and purchase the County-required mounting brackets and a small supply of additional signs for replacements. Manufacturing the signs will cost $260 per sign, and with the brackets, the total cost will be $22,778.21 to place the signs on all the remaining street sign poles in the neighborhood.
Clark County Public Works will install the signs for us, but we need your help covering the manufacturing and equipment costs. It will also be the responsibility of Paradise Palms to maintain the signs and have replacements on hand should a sign become damaged or vandalized.
Paradise Palms was THE first neighborhood in Clark County to feature such identification signs, which help foster community identity, Historic Overlay awareness, and create a sense of place. Now is our opportunity to extend that identification to the entirety of the neighborhood and fully implement our community identification program.
