NSW Floods - Megan and Bruce need your help!
Donation protected
This is my cousin and best friend Megan with her very good boy Bruce.
On Monday, Megan and Bruce were forced to evacuate their home in Wardell, Northern NSW, due to the extreme weather conditions and flooding in her local area.
Megan left with the clothes on her back and Bruce in her arms. To get to safety, she had to wade through waist-deep water to get to the refuge of her car, which has subsequently since been their only home and shelter.
Upon returning to Wardell, it became clear that the floods had caused catastrophic damage to everything she owns - and I mean everything. Megan is now without a bed, mattress or bedding. The majority of her clothes are damaged, and all her household white goods have been completely destroyed. Any furniture she once had was submerged in water for days and has been completely ruined - all entirely gone.
Her home was annihilated. And sadly, insurance does not cover flood damage.
This woman has been a pillar of strength for me over the years and is a huge giver with a heart of gold. By way of a tiny example of her generosity, when the bushfires devastated Australia in 2019, Megan donated to various local charities and volunteered on the ground at a wildlife rescue centre in the Blue Mountains. All without a whisper because that’s just the type of person she is.
Now, Megan and Bruce need your help. If you could, in any small way, please give to this incredible woman to help her rebuild her home, and her life.
Thank you for reading this far. If you are able to donate, Meegie and Bruce will be overwhelmingly humbled.
We would be forever grateful.
You can watch more of Megan’s story on the 7.30 Report here (to watch, you will need to create an iview account which is free). She is on from 8min 15 sec to approx 12.10
Thank you and all my love,
Chelsey xx
