Ryan’s recovery

Hi, my younger brother Ryan is 17 years old and has just been diagnosed with a young persons tumor. Ryan is a quiet boy with a small friendship group that means the world to him. He would do anything to be home and seeing them again. Everyone has their fingers crossed for him and are hoping he comes home soon.
Around 10 weeks ago he woke up with a pounding headache, was being sick and was complaining about not being able to see properly. We knew something was wrong as Ryan doesn’t get poorly very often. After about 2 weeks we took him to the doctors where they assumed it was a viral infection and sent us on our way. 3 weeks after that he was still very poorly and actually getting worse. We took him back down to the doctors where they did a urine sample and found out that he had a bladder infection which was left untreated for those 5 weeks. They prescribed him some antibiotics, he took these everyday but he still wasn’t feeling better.
On the 28th June he had an eye test booked, they pulled our mum aside and told her about the concerns they had about his eyes. They found something that looked like a lump on the back of his eyes, they made an emergency referral to treliske hospital where they got him in for 1.30pm. Our mum, dad and half sister took him up to treliske to have further tests. When they arrived they did a blood test on him. They also took photos of the back of his eyes and confirmed there was something there, so they book him in for an mri and visual field test for Friday 4th July.
Tuesday 1st July at 12.30am he woke up being sick at and was shaking really bad, I phoned 111 and waited for a phone call back. At 1.20am he was being sick again and said his hands went numb. I phoned 111 again to make them aware of the situation they called back within 15 minutes. They told my mum that he needed to go to treliske for tests. Mum, dad and Ryan got to treliske at 2.30am. He had a cannula put in to give him fluids and any medication. 2.15pm he was called for an mri. They told mum and dad that he had a mass in his head that was causing his brain to swell and have fluid around his brain. Mum and Ryan were blue lighted to derriford hospital and dad came back home to gather some things for them. Ryan went in for his first surgery to remove as much fluid as they could and put a drain in to keep him comfortable until they could remove the mass.
When the surgeon comes back off holiday next week they will be doing his second surgery to remove the mass.
Ryan is going to need chemotherapy and radiotherapy, this means Ryan will have to stay in derriford for at least a couple months. The reason why I’m starting this gofundme is to gather some funds together so that our dad can see his son more often and pay some of the bills as he’s having to take time off work, we live in st Austell so it is costing him around £40 a day in fuel and parking. This will reduce the amount of stress that our mum and dad have. It will also help pay for food for my mum at the hospital as she’s staying there every step of the way until he’s home again.
Any help is very appreciated and will mean the world to us.
