This is Melissa Loi, my sister. She had a bright future ahead of her and would be celebrating her 20th Birthday next month. She recently graduated as a Medical Assistant and had dreamed of someday starting a family of her own. With great sadness, she has been tragically taken from us and heaven has gained an angel.  My family is devastated by another sudden loss. We lost my mother and baby brother last April.

 

Melissa was the light of my life. She was always there for me no matter what. In the past few months, we were closer than ever. We shared many laughs and memories.  Anytime I had exciting news, she would be the first to know. I would run across the hall to knock on her door or FaceTime. We held each other up whenever we were down. No matter where she is in this world, she will always be by my side.

 

My sister was so strong and dedicated to everything, she took after my mom. I want to follow in their footsteps. Most importantly, she taught me how to love, how to care for everyone around us. She is the best sister I could’ve had.
