This Go-Fund-Me is for my Uncle Skip. Skip went into the hospital on January 20th for a routine procedure and ended up with a ruptured artery. He lost 40 to 45 percent of his blood.

Skip was in a medical coma for 8 days, and on a ventilator for about 12 days. He suffered 2 small strokes during the surgery. His kidneys were almost shut down from blood loss. It could be 6 or more months for his brain to be back to or almost back to before the original surgery. He spent 26 days at Community hosptial in Munster. Then was sent to Regency, L-TAC long term accute care center. Skip spent 22 days there. Then was moved to the 1st rehab center, spent 2 days there, then back to the hospital for 8 more days. Then moved to the 2nd rehab on the 17th of March. This is where Skip is currently. He may be there 30 to 45 days. Skip doesn't remember anything prior to going to the 1st rehab. His only clear memory is from his time in the 2nd hospital. Skip will have to have skin grafts on his left calf at some point in the future to cover the wounds there from having to cut to release the pressure. His full recovery could be 6 months or longer.

It will be next to impossible for Skip to return to work and continue to support his family. At retirement age, he and his wife Vickie hoped to retire soon and spend their time the way the want which they have rightfully earned. Their plans have now changed obviously.

I share all of this to be transparent and paint a clear picture of Skip and Vickie's sudden hardship and give people a great reason for giving. Skip and his family appreciate any and all help you can give. Thank you.
