Help Me Buy a Used Car

TL;DR My car dealer was supposed to get me a $3k car since last November and have been extremely flakey and now is MIA after traveling.

Hi, I’m Nafi and I recently got my driver’s license back in March. What was supposed to be an exciting experience has been a whirlwind of disappointments. I was supposed to get a car by now since I’ve been in talks with my dad’s car dealer friend and now he has traveled and I cannot reach him. We’ve been working on this… since November of last year. It’s been an incredibly frustrating period of time especially since I was persistent on being patient since the car was cheap and it’s difficult finding reliable cars at that price range. I’ve given up and need a car for work and school It’s 99 degrees in New York as of recent and waiting for transportation has been grueling work while having to take online summer classes at the same time. I unfortunately paid him $3k and while I wait for him to come back to the States and get my refund, I’ve reluctantly decided to start a gofundme to help pay for a car myself. I found a used car that I like for $9k and I’m hoping to get that (or anything similar if the car is sold before I reach the target goal) before my fall semester, but I’m also realistic and just want the car as soon as I can get the funds. I’m also saving for my Masters and haven’t prepared to save or allocate any of my teacher assistant’s salary towards it, making the prospect of getting a car soon even more difficult.
