NSEC School Horse Sponsorship

My name is Allanda Carter and most of you know me as the office manager at North Shore Equestrian Centre for the past 15 years. I am organizing this fundraiser for the 17 NSEC school horses that depend on the income the public lessons bring in in order to keep them fed, healthy and happy.

As many of you are already aware, due to the COVID-19 outbreak many businesses have been shutting their doors to the public in order to comply with Government and Public Health recommendation, North Shore Equestrian Centre has been one of these businesses.

With so much uncertainty on when the barn will be able to reopen their doors back to public riding lessons, I want to make sure that the NSEC school horses are able to return to helping young riders continue to learn and grow as equine enthusiasts.

In an effort to keep the school horses happy and mobile, the school horses have been sent out to pasture until NSEC is able to open again. In doing this, these hard working horses will be able to remain active, both mentally and physically, as well as help the barn cut down on some of the costs associated with individual horse barn labour (stall cleaning, feeding, exercising, ect.).

The owners of these pastures are well known and long time trusted friends of the owners of NSEC, so I am more than confident the horses will be well cared for until NSEC is able to bring them back to the North Shore and restart the public lesson programs. The goal of $5500.00 will cover one month of board and feed for all 17 school horses while they are out at pasture. All proceeds from this fundraiser will be going straight to these costs, which I will be paying directly to the pasture owners via cheque/etransfer. If we end up raising more then we need, any extra funds will go towards either the extended pasture turn out needed due to continued closure of the barn or any future vet and farrier upkeep to make sure the beloved school horses of NSEC are happy, healthy and well looked after as always!

It is my sincerest hope that our community of riders will come together in this time of hardship. In helping cover the pasture costs of the school horses, the barn will be able to focus on daily labour costs in order to keep the barn running so that it is able to reopen its doors to our amazing community quickly and smoothly once it is safe to do so.
