Northshore Select Soccer Spain Trip
Donation protected
Hi!
My name is Jake Wendover and I am 13-years-old. With my parents’ support, I am asking for your help.
I play soccer for Northshore Select Club (NSC) based in Woodinville, Washington. The two positions I play are left defender and center defender. This year my team has a huge opportunity. We have a chance to play in an international soccer tournament next summer in Spain. The tournament has approximately 523 teams from 17 countries and we will be one of three teams from Washington State.
This is an opportunity for my soccer team to not only play soccer at an international level but also to have a truly amazing experience. My team will travel to Spain together next June and stay together for 14 days. Throughout this time, we will compete in the soccer tournament and experience a different culture. We will have a chance to learn about history, geography, cuisine, language and international politics. We will have a chance to build team camaraderie and support each other in a completely different way than we have ever had the chance to do before.
This experience is one that I am really looking forward to and yet, it is an experience that comes with a hefty price tag. The cost of this trip is $68,000 for the 17 players on my team. While we are a team representing NSC, NSC is not paying for any part of this tournament or associated travel costs. My soccer team is made up of families who have a variety of jobs and income levels and we don’t want financial burden to be a reason why a player can’t attend this trip.
Each of us on the team are trying to raise money to help offset the expense of this trip for our families. My soccer team will be doing several local fundraising activities. Yet, we also have a go-fund-me account set up. Money collected will be used to offset the costs of the players – each player has a goal to raise $4,000. If we each had 200 people donate $20, our individual player goal would be achieved. I am asking you if you would be willing to make a donation to help me reach my goal.
Thank you for your consideration and support,
Jake
