Send me to New York
Donation protected
My place is undergoing major repair and I am going to be kicked out for a bit. I want to go to New York to conduct interviews, do more research and writing on my book about my first two years in New York, 1978-80, one of the most exciting and open times in our cultural history and my own . A few weeks after arriving in the city I was broke, kicked out of my hotel and rescued by The New York Niggers a downtown band with whom I lived, played and recorded a single which has taken on a life of its own. It is a story of inclusion and creativity, of desire and drive in a dangerous but open city. It is a story about my journey from rejecting my own past and becoming ok with who I am, a story of hanging out and making music with my heroes who started the punk movement. A story of the spirit of creating with abandon. The spirit that informs me to this day. Your donation will help a project that will excite and inspire you and whoever knows me knows that this is so. There is more information and the artwork that I offer you on return for your contribution. Mahalo Nui, dieter. dieterrunge.wordpress.com
