Run for Riley
Donation protected
Greetings!
Jarren is running again in the Transcend 65k ultramarathon on June 22nd and raising funds for friends in need. This year will be a little different… Due to injury, I won’t be able to run the entire race so I’ve employed an old friend and pain enthusiast, Benjamin Sinclair, to relay with me and split the distance.
This year we will be dedicating the run to raise funds for our close friends, Toby and Ash, who have recently brought beautiful twin boys into the world, one of which being diagnosed with some medical conditions.
Here’s a few words from the family…
Riley was born with neurological conditions called Polymicrogyria and microcephaly which have affected the formation and structure of his brain, resulting in impacts to various areas of his development and putting him at high risk for developing epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Riley will require frequent and on-going visits to Perth Children’s Hospital to receive the extra support and care that will help him work towards meeting his full potential and experiencing life to its fullest. We’ve only just started this journey with Riley but he is a strong and feisty baby and came into this world full of fight, so we have no doubt he will continue to amaze us with his capabilities. He makes the cutest little noises when he’s happy and gives beautiful big smiles that melt our hearts. We love our boys more than we ever thought possible and although this is not the parenting journey we had imagined we’re looking forward to all the adventures and lessons about life we’re sure to experience along the way as our family of four.
If you’re feeling generous and would like to help the family by easing their financial burden, this would make a world of difference in their lives. The money will be going directly to Ash and Toby to use for any medical and caring expenses related to Riley.
Big thanks to Brooks Hire for sponsoring my entry again this year.
Thank you everyone!
