When it rains, it pours…

Nate encountered a back injury carrying heavy boxes of lumber to the backyard for the kids’ swingset a couple of weeks ago, little did we know how severe his injury would become…it’s been a whirlwind to say the least.

Over the last 2 weeks he has been in and out of doctors offices, chiropractor, and the ER. He has had countless imaging including 3 MRI’s. He has significant damage to his lower back, 2 herniated discs that are bulging into his spinal cord and pushing into the nerves on both the left and right side, all affecting the lower half of his body. As of 8/6/22, he has been admitted to the hospital. He is very weak, can no longer walk without the help of a walker, has numbness that shoots down into his butt, hips, and both legs down into his toes, and has lost control of bladder function. They will be performing an extensive surgery this afternoon, 8/8/22. As of right now, we don’t know how long he will be out of work, and with me being at the hospital with him and no PTO left to use after having our little Emery earlier this year, we are swallowing our pride a little (a lot) here and asking for help from our village to help us get through this unpredictable time so we can continue to focus on Nate’s recovery and support our 3 babies. We know times are hard for everyone, even those who are able to work. So if anything, please pray, pray for Nate’s healing, pray for a successful surgery, a successful recovery, pray for our sweet babies to help them understand that daddy can’t pick them up or wrestle around, and pray for me to be able to hold myself together while taking care of our little zoo crew and their daddy.
