Hi there my name is Lou and I started a volunteer animal rescue transport, @team_kymbo, after losing my fried Kym to cancer and also my career in emergency service due to PTSD and physical injury.
We have been offering lifts to all animals in need free of charge to get them either do urgent vet care or a carer.
Whilst we try to fund everything ourselves, we need your help for this beautiful soul AJ who has just turned one.
I transported AJ from a rural pound collection and on meeting him he barely weighed 11 kgs. He stayed with us for a week until we found him a carer. This wonderful family got AJ diagnosed with diabetes and pancreatic issues which enabled him to receive medication, gain weight (now 18.6kgs) and have a chance at a happy and loving life.
Sadly with the delayed diagnosis and pancreatic issues AJ rapidly lost his sight in just a month.
As you can imagine this has caused this beautiful, gentle goofball extreme stress and sadness.
It got to a point we were weighing up quality of life. So the decision was made to bring him back into my home with my dogs to see if fur company could boost his spirits and mood. We are happy to say in just a short two week period AJ has become more spritely, happy and back to being a goofball.
So now we want to give him the most perfect gift he deserves, his eyesight back.
This is very possible and hugely successful. Surgery will mean that AJ will regain full vision and give him the best possible life..... Because if you met him you would do everything in the world to make his life wonderful.
Cost at this stage is $7500 but we are hoping for a discount from the eye specialist.
He has his first consultation on May 6th so we are hoping to get the ball rolling on the fundraiser to see if this can be achieved.
We will also be selling artwork and jewellery plus a photo exhibition to help raise these funds.
If you have the ability to donate please give what you can. And if you can't afford anything (times are bloody tough currently) could you please share far and wide.
It would make my heart smile to see this wonderful soul see again.
It's what he deserved after such a hard start in life.
