Hello everyone!!
My name is Tress and I’m raising money to help pay my rent for the next five months. I’ve always considered myself financially responsible and have been saving money literally since I was 11. Unfortunately, these past few months, all of that saving and money went out the window to pay off my roommate’s debt to our apartment. She couldn’t afford our rent and left me and my family to pay her side that had piled up over the span of four months. That totaled up to about 4k out of pocket that the apartment needed immediately lest they evict me and start to ding my credit. She promised to pay me back, but then moved and blocked me on everything. Now! I ended up having to move because I couldn’t afford a two bedroom by myself. Luckily my apartment was incredibly understanding and let me rent a 1bed 1bath a few floors down. That being said, rent is $1,547 (I know, and that doesn’t even include utilities ) because I’m living by myself and couldn’t afford the lease breaking fee to move out my building for cheaper options.
My mom, bless her heart, has had my back through this all and has offered to put what she can towards my rent to help me out. Y’all, my mother is turning 63 this year and words cannot describe how much it hurts me to see her bust her ass to provide for my grandparents, my sister, and I. It’s too much for one person and I can’t live with adding to her stress every month like this.
Obviously I’m also busting my ass at work to make money, but when it comes down to it I’m still just barely making my current rent.
Where I am right now simply isn’t sustainable, and while I’ll continue to pursue other avenues, as well as job hunt for a second job, I figured I’d also try reaching out to my community for help.
So! I’m here!
I know $7,735 is a LOT of money, but that’s what my rent totals out to for the next five months. I’ve made a plan for myself, and within that time period (sans rent) I’ll be able to save up enough money to give back to my family what they have so generously scrounged together to give me as well as pay off other debts such as my student loans.
Now! I know in this economy and with this shitty ass job market that we’re all a little broke, but if you can!! Anything helps!
And if you can’t? Tag somebody rich when you repost this please and thank you!! ↕️
