Harry Leslie Smith's son John's cancer battle

John Smith, who put his own goals aside to care for his father, Harry Leslie Smith, "the world's oldest rebel," has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer, almost a year to the day he lost his beloved dad at age 95 in late November 2018.

At 56, John's life is again on hold. He will have to make frequent trips from his home in Belleville to Toronto for radiation treatment, surgery to remove his cancer, as well as post-op meetings with surgeons.

As he cannot currently work and has no medical benefits, he will need help covering basic living costs, travel to and from Toronto, and anything else he needs during the recovery process.

Friends of John and Harry Leslie Smith are starting this campaign because John, after caring so many years for his dad, is now the one who needs our help, so he can kick cancer's ass and get back to the work of continuing to preserve his father's legacy.

Please join us in giving whatever small amount you can to help John in his time of need, as he so selflessly did for his father, whom we all loved and admired.

Every dollar will go to a medical fund for John, to use as he requires.
