Help save our puppy
Donation protected
“Pilot”, our beautiful 4-month-old Beaglier puppy, ate a large fishing hook yesterday. She is Cherry’s therapy dog and the most beautiful, loving, energetic happy little thing ever known.
During our evening walk she saw a lump of calamari and swallowed it before I could stop her. It was bait with a large fishing hook inside. I grabbed her, starting to run as best as I could.
It was upsetting when I ran through the car park and a man leaned down from his boat and said, “what happened” - after I told him, he said, “stupid dog”.
Another man however did give me a lift home. Emergency surgery to remove the hook was performed quickly, last night, to save her but I am told the total cost will be around $7000.
Please be careful with discarding old fishing gear, and please be careful with your pets on the beach. Our little Pilot was not to blame for this.
Thank you for reading and maybe you could share this story on your social pages. If you can help ease the burden on our family in some small way, thank you, again.
I pledge that if we do raise more than the money needed for Pilot’s medical bills, any excess will be donated to Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS).
