A Bench for Tony
Donation protected
Let me start by saying this is a SURPRISE! Please don't share anything you read below with Tony's immediate family members (Carol, Mike, Michael, Joe, or even Em) as this gift is intended for them :) Now - on with the idea...
As some of you may have noticed, on Tony's 30th birthday we made a day trip to Ocean City, MD. It was one of Tony's favorite places & the one place he repeatedly spoke of visiting while in the hospital. While there Mom & I had, what we think is, an AMAZING idea! "Let's get a bench on the boardwalk dedicated to Tony!" We can give it to Aunt Carol & the entire family for Christmas! Yes! Best idea ever. Woo!
Fast forward through a couple days of research & speaking to employees at Ocean City Public Works...
A bench costs $2,000.
You read that right - Two Thousand Dollars.... <insert sound of plumiting great idea here>... Gah, we can't afford that.
A couple more days past & we realize that perhaps other #TONYSTRONG family, friends, & teammates might be interested in contributing towards the purchase of this bench. Afterall - it would be a place for more than just the Glorioso family to visit and remember Tony. And that brings us to today.
Here's the details... The dedicated bench would be placed somewhere on the boardwalk between Wicomico St. and 4th St. We could choose for the bench to face the beach or the boards.. we believe Tony would rather face the boards because he was such a fan of people watching! This bench would remain on the boardwalk for 7 to 10 years. Public Works would maintain the bench & dedication plaque - replace it in the event of natural disaster, etc. After the 7 to 10 years the bench will be given to the Glorioso family.
We hope that you might consider contributing towards the purchase of this dedication. We need to raise $2,200 to cover the cost of the bench ($2,000) &, hopefully, the fees Go Fund Me charges.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me, Samantha.
