The dream of a lawyer's family in Gaza: Lara, Sultan, and Zain await new hope in Deir al-Balah..
From the courtroom to the search for safety...
My name is Obada, and I had built a life for myself in Gaza through years of hard work. I was not just a father, but also a lawyer, working passionately to defend people's rights and championing justice and equality.
My office was my only source of income to provide a decent life for my family.
Today, that office no longer exists. Neither does our cosy home, which witnessed my children's first steps. I lost my home, my office and all my dreams because of the war.
My office was completely destroyed, and all my files and professional archives were lost. I was left without a job and without any source of income.
We lost the sense of security that we had taken for granted, and my dreams of building a stable future for my children were shattered.
After losing everything, I moved with my family to Deir al-Balah, where I rented a small flat, but this security is temporary and I cannot maintain it for long after losing my job and my entire source of livelihood.
My children are my world, and they are now the only source of strength I draw on:
Lara (6 years old): She used to go to school and dream of becoming a painter. Today, she looks after her younger siblings and asks, "When will I be able to learn and read new stories?"
Sultan (5 years old): This little hero tries hard to be a little man. But all he really needs is warmth and safety at night.
Zain (2 years old): The youngest. He does not understand the reason for this displacement, and all he needs is a stable environment to feel the security that war has stolen from his childhood.
Our goal with this campaign is to raise the funds needed to rebuild the basics of life and dignity for my children, provide educational supplies for Ara, and begin to equip myself with the minimum tools necessary to work as an independent lawyer and contribute to supporting my family once again.
We also need to pay the rent for our flat in Deir al-Balah and buy essential winter clothes for the children.
We are not asking for luxury, but for a chance at life and dignity for three children who have lost their home and their dreams. I appeal to you to help me get back on my feet so that I can provide education, warmth and safety for my children.
Help us so that I can hug my children and tell them, "Hope is not lost yet."
