Hi all. I am Crystal, Rachael’s twin sister, and Reece’s Aunt. As most of you know, Reece is undergoing treatment in San Francisco Children’s Hospital for Encephalitis, Epilepsy, and, a Heart Block…with many things still undiagnosed. There are still a lot of unknowns but what we do know is he will require several possibly lengthy stays while he undergoes treatment. Due to COVID restrictions there is limited housing available to help and only 1-parent is allowed to stay with Reece. Rachael works for the Oroville Elementary School District and Trent is a Freshman basketball coach for Las Plumas High School. They have an older son staying behind at home being cared for by myself and our family. Both boys are very active in local youth basketball programs and Reece is eager to conquer these medical setbacks and get back to playing. The length of treatment may require one or both of them to take a leave and puts a lot of financial strain on them as they travel back and forth from Oroville to San Francisco.
