Asking For Help

In the summer of 2021, our dad fractured his hip, and it would not heal. Time went by, and the week of his birthday in November, he found himself admitted to the emergency room. He had had a heart attack, infection and a shattered pelvis. After a week's stay and a healthier heart, he was able to go home, but the pelvis and hip still were not healing. After multiple rounds of doctor appointments and tests, just before Christmas, our dad was diagnosed with Metastatic Malignant Neoplasma Cancer which is bone cancer.
His pelvis/hip has yet to heal, and he finds himself in continual pain. The heaviness of grief that weighs on our family has been brutal.
To say our dad is a fighter is an understatement! He has had his hand caught on fire, two broken feet-yes, at the same time! A tree limb fell and hit him in the back of the head, leaving him in a coma for multiple days and a massive heart attack; these are just a few of the accidents and medical emergencies he has survived, and there are more stories. Survivor is the word that best describes our dad, and we do not doubt that he can survive cancer.
Our mother is struggling with the crippling cost of chemo drugs. The copay for chemo drugs is $6000 a month. Our mother has taken out a loan to help offset the price, but it's drowning her finically. She is asking for help with the cost of one month's copay. We wouldn't be asking if we weren't on our "last straw." It feels like we are all stretched with financial burden, but we are incredibly grateful that you have taken the time to read our struggle and thank you if you have the means to donate.
