Bonnie needs our help
Donation protected
Anyone who has met Bonnie knows what a wonderfully caring, thoughtful, and generous woman she is. Many, many people in our Kingston community know firsthand how she and her husband Mark have opened their hearts and home to both young and old (plus fur babies), organised fundraisers, and donated time and money to charitable causes.
Now it is our turn to show Bonnie how much she means to us!
Bonnie has recently become an amputee losing her right leg below the knee due to complications arising from diabetes. This devastating loss means life for Bonnie and Mark will never be the same but in true Bonnie fashion she is determined to work hard at her daily physio and occupational therapy and vows she will one day walk again. Meanwhile in order for Bonnie to be able to get around when she does get home from the hospital, their house needs to undergo substantial modifications to accommodate her new wheelchair-bound reality. Mark is trying to do as much of the preliminary work as he can but the overall cost of installing ramps, widening hallways and doorways, and remodeling the bathroom has been quoted at costing between $40,000 - $50,000 and there are NO GRANTS available to Mark and Bonnie to undertake this work.
For all of us who have been wondering how we can show support, this GoFundMe page has been set up to help alleviate the financial stress so Bonnie can focus on her recovery. We love you, Bonnie!
