Hi everyone. My name is Becca, and I’m asking for help catching up on the mortgage for my home.

I am a disabled vulnerable adult and a co-owner of the house. Earlier this year, I found out that the mortgage situation was much worse than I had been led to understand. It wasn’t until around March that we realized how far behind things had gotten, and that money we believed was going toward the mortgage was not actually keeping the account caught up.

The mortgage has been in forbearance, but only the minimum $100 payment had been made each month while the balance continued to grow. In May, that minimum payment was missed entirely, which almost caused the forbearance agreement to be voided. I had to step in and make that payment on June 1st to keep the agreement from falling apart.

Right now, the past-due balance is over $14,000. We are trying. Since finding out how serious the situation was, we have been doing what we can to make payments ourselves, and we were recently able to put $500 toward it. But there are still regular bills, utilities, food, transportation, and other household expenses that also have to be handled, and we are behind.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help pay down the forbearance balance, catch up on the mortgage, and get back to making regular monthly payments again. Any funds raised will go directly toward stabilizing the mortgage and helping me protect my home.

I am not asking for help lightly. I am asking because this has become more than we can fix alone while also trying to keep up with everything else. Any donation, share, or support would mean so much.
