Devin & Clelia Garrity Expense's

Donation protected
As some of you know Devin has faced a great challenge over the past 10 years with a devestating diagnosis of multiple aortic and renal aneurysms. Given 3 days to live in late October of 2004, he has survived and lived a very full life despite the grim knowledge, always in the back of his mind that, as many doctors told him, "You are on a slippery slope and could die at any moment." Living with this diagnosis has not come without it's issue's. Devin has been in pain to the point of diblitation at times. To live this way, is not really "living".

Due to Surgical technique advancements, mostly in the past 24 months, Devin was given a very real possibility that Dr. Daniel Claire, head of Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, may be able to repair the most serious of Devin's aneurysms. After long discussions, prayers and more discussions, it was decided that Devin's best chance at a quaility life would be to have said surgery. The surgery was long, invasive and very dangerous but Clelia and the Dr's are trying to stay very optimistic.

Devin's surgery took over 11 hours, and required very delicate hands and patience.  He has had a few set backs and even as I set up this account, Devin is back in ICU fighting for his life.

Devin and Clelia moved to St. Michael's, Maryland recently, which is 500 miles from the hospital in Cleveland Ohio. Just to get to the airport for Clelia is an hour and half drive, then a plane ride, then another hour cab ride to the hospital.  The nearest hotel is about 5 miles away. and even with hospital discounts it's fairly expensive, not to mention the cost of meals and living expenses for Clelia while Devin is being taken care of in the hospital.  For this reason Clelia has been staying mostly in Maryland and trying to keep up with his medical condition via phone, usually talking to a different medical professional everytime she calls.

So, my friends, this is why I have set up this account. Clelia and Devin need to be together as much as possible as this is not going to be a sprint, this is going to be a marathon.  Devin will spend weeks in Cleveland recovering from this major surgery. He will then be at the Cleveland Clinic doing rehab before subsequent surgeries take place to correct other vascular issues. Definitely a marathon with hope for a great improvement in quality of life at the end of it all.

Please pray for this wonderful couple and think about donating to help them be together as much as possible, as well as help with the extra medical expenses that will start coming in the mail soon enough.

Gods Peace to you all, and I will use this page to keep you updated as to Devin's progress .

Sincerely and prayerfully,

Jennifer Knight
