My name is Sinatra , i will be 1 in june. I was playing outside with my mom when a stick lodged into the back of my throat! My mom and dad rushed me to the emergency vet and they had to put in a tracheotomy to help with the swelling during surgery. I just want to go home to my mom and dad and brother. Please help, if you can with my vet bills as they are getting pretty high.
UPDATE :
On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend I was living my best life! I was playing outside with my big brother Trigger, running around the yard, dipping my feet in the kiddie pool mom set up for us, and chewing on sticks while laying in the sun, or shade! Every once in a while mom would throw a stick for us. Trigger and I would run and run. If he got it first we’d play tug of war. I always win!! Then mid-day my mom threw a stick and I took off running, leaving Trigger in the dust. When I got to the stick it was straight up and down so I jumped on it and tried to bite it. I didn’t realize it was going to go all the way to the back of my throat. It hurt so much I yelped out loud. As I ran back to mom I continued whimpering. My mom kind of freaked out when she saw all the blood coming out of my mouth. She couldn’t tell what was wrong because there was so much blood. My mom and dad got me in the car and my dad drove like a maniac to get me to the emergency vet. I lost a lot of blood on the drive down (but thankfully not too much so that I’d need a blood transfusion. I didn’t want that!!) Once there they whisked me away from mom and dad to take me into the back to examine me. They gave me pain medicine that made me feel a little better. That night they did exploratory surgery and learned that my throat was so swollen I could barely breathe. They called my parents to get permission to give me a tracheotomy. Of course they said yes! (Just between us…I think I’m the fav!) So now I have to breathe through this tube in my throat until the swelling in my esophagus goes down. The vet hospital is ok and the staff are all super nice to me but I really miss my home and my own bed…oh, and all my stuffed animals too!! Hopefully, I will get to go home soon!
