Jack Gannon turned 5 years old in January as his family was celebrating looking forward to a new year with him, his brother, and his newborn sister. Shortly after Jack became sick for what was thought to be a post viral inflammation infection due to a recent bout with Covid. He and his family were completely blindsided to learn his condition was much worse and on Feb 9th Jack was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
After surgery Jack began chemotherapy that has continued for the last 3 months. While he is receiving tremendous medical care at Melodies Center at Albany Medical center, the amount of appointments and therapy sessions have been taxing on both Jack and his family. His therapy sessions include weekly clinic visits for chemotherapy, lumbar punctures, and occasional bone marrow biopsies to ensure his body is responding properly to the treatments.
The financial burden placed on his family has been heavy and will only worse as his treatments and therapy continues. The future medical bills are unknown as his treatment therapy costs are continuing to increase. Friends of the Gannon family has come together to show their support for Jack's fight by raising money for Jack’s medical bills and having a fund raiser in his honor. No 5 year old boy should ever have to go through this and no family who spend their lives helping others should have to fear the unknown financial burden coming at them by just trying to help their young boy get his life back to normal.
We have come together to ask for any help and donate what you can give to help Jack Fight Leukemia. Your donation will help support Jack and his family with the costs associated with his care including medical bills beyond insurance, Food, additional needed support for his brother Jude and new sister Joie, and any unexpended medical and living costs for Jack.
Friends and Family will be gathering for a rally of support for Jack’s continued fight on June 4th at Normanside Country Club from 2-6pm. We invite you to join in showing Jack and his family that “No One Fights Alone”. Look for details in the coming weeks.
Any funds left over after his treatment beyond these costs will be held for a time when Jack can make decisions about how to pay it forward to other kids like him going through a similar diagnosis. No one should ever have to face this battle alone, especially a 5 year old boy. His friends have come together to ask for your help showing Jack that he is not alone in this fight, and together we will Help Jack Fight Leukemia!
