In February 2025, my friend from school, Lindsey, received every parent’s worst nightmare. Her beautiful daughter, Phoebe, was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of liver cancer.
Since then, Phoebe has shown extraordinary courage. She has already undergone major surgery to remove over 80% of her liver in an attempt to eliminate the tumours along with weeks of intensive chemotherapy. Phoebe has shown strength far beyond her years.
Now, Phoebe urgently needs a living donor liver transplant — something that has never been carried out in the UK for this specific cancer type.
Unfortunately the NHS have refused to carry out the transplant which means Phoebe can’t even have this essential surgery private in her own country, meaning other options are having to be explored.
I am taking on the challenge of running the Manchester marathon to raise funds and awareness for Phoebe. While the physical challenge will be tough, it is nothing compared to what Phoebe faces every single day. Every mile I run is for her — for her courage, her strength, and her right to a future. This is my way of standing alongside her and her family, and of doing everything I can to help give Phoebe the chance she deserves.
Phoebe is fighting with everything she has. She deserves the chance to grow up, to laugh, and to live the life she was meant to have.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help give Phoebe the life-saving transplant she desperately needs and support her family as they continue this unimaginable journey. Your kindness could be the reason Phoebe gets her chance at life.
Thank you for supporting Phoebe
