My name is Nicoleta, and I never thought I’d be writing these words — not as a patient, but as someone holding onto hope with everything I have.
Over the past year, my world has been turned upside down. What started with abdominal discomfort led to months of testing, uncertainty, and fear. I’ve undergone numerous biopsies, but the results were often inconclusive or showed low tumor content. Despite that, I was started on chemotherapy and immunotherapy because my imaging continued to suggest cholangiocarcinoma — a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer.
Every cycle of treatment has brought me to my knees — fever, pain, blood clots, and emergency hospital visits. Yet through all the pain, I continue to fight. I’ve been told I have a tumor-related clot in my portal vein, but also that my case is still complex, still uncertain — and possibly not even cancer. But time isn’t waiting.
That’s why I’m now reaching out — not just for financial support, but for a chance
Why I’m Fundraising
I’ve recently learned about an innovative, non-invasive treatment called histotripsy — a breakthrough ultrasound therapy that destroys tumors without surgery, radiation, or traditional chemotherapy. It's currently available only in select centers, including in the United States.
Histotripsy may offer me a chance at a better outcome — or at least, hope for a future with fewer complications and more options. But accessing this treatment means paying privately for advanced imaging, consultations, travel, and possibly the procedure itself
Your Donations Will Help Me Pay For:
Advanced MRI/MRCP imaging and second opinions
Private pathology review to clarify my diagnosis
Travel to potential histotripsy centers (UK or abroad)
Specialist consultations and supportive care
Essential living and recovery expenses during treatment
Please Help Me Keep Fighting
I’m not giving up — not on my life, not on hope, not on healing.
Your donation, no matter the size, helps me get one step closer to answers, options, and a treatment that might change everything. Even if you cannot donate, sharing my story would mean the world to me.
Thank you for walking with me on this journey.
With love and deep gratitude,
Nicoleta
