Skilled Visa Costs and Requirements

Hi everyone, my name is Chiamaka and i'm fundraising for a queer friend currently facing deportation to Nigeria. Her visa expires February 27.

While her workplace has agreed to cover the cost of the sponsorship certificate, a cost that she herself has contributed to, the impending visa fees are hers to bear. Between short notice, high costs of living, and earning around minimum wage, she is unable to foot these visa costs all in one go.

The cost breakdown is as follows:

Application fee- £827

IHS- £2070

GoFundMe admin cost- £103

Originally, her employer promised to cover all of these costs, but at the last minute have pulled out due to financial constraints.

It's been 4 years of working, studying, countless part time shifts, and thousands of £s to get to this point, and this is the final push. Any help is appreciated, from a donation to a share. Put simply, life in Nigeria is difficult, and as a queer person, infinitely more so. She's built a life and a community here and it would be devastating for us and her if she were to return.
