Nestled in the indigenous fishing village of Loma Partida, Panama, our community of 300 has ~100 students in the local school (K-9), 22 traveling to a nearby high school, and 5 interested in attending university. With scarce employment opportunities and an average daily wage of $15 the needs of these children often go unmet. School uniforms and supplies, decent lunches, and potable water are just a few of the essentials that we have been providing since we moved here in 2018. We intend to continue this support and need your help.
Accomplishments to date:
Our primary focus is supporting the children of our community by providing educational opportunities and basic living needs.
• Improved the docks at the local school
• Building bathrooms at the local school
• Provide school supplies to the 100 children
• Hiring a high school teacher for our local children
• Offer charging services for smartphones used for remote learning
• Monthly food supplementation for the community
• Transportation to the local high school
• Financial support for higher learning
• Employment opportunities for the locals through Papi’s Pizza
• Papi’s Pals program - sponsoring students interested in attending university
• Christmas food and present delivery
• Yearly movie night and festival for the kids
Continuing the support:
After much research and community involvement, below is the list of essentials we intend to provide which will keep this community growing and thriving.
• School uniforms and a pair of shoes yearly for each student
• School materials for the year for each student
• SIM card purchase for remote learning programs: our students have been part-time
remote learning since the beginning of the pandemic, March 2020
• Transportation to the local high school
• Weekly food supplementation for the school, feeding 100+ children
• Potable water for each home (this water is tapped in a local spring and simply
requires running PVC piping to each home)
• Financial support for 3 university-bound students
• 100 Mattresses
We are committed to providing school supplies and education opportunities to all those who have a desire to further their education. In addition to providing school uniforms, supplies, and adequate nutrition, we also assist with English language studies.

The community of Loma Partida, although faced with poverty, is abundant with natural resources. Our local community is responsible for much of the local fishing; beef, chicken, and pig cultivation; vegetable farming; and providing wood and thatch. A few of the locals are able to eke out an existence, while most of the women have little to no employment opportunity. We have sought to compensate for this lack of opportunity by starting Papi’s Pizza with the goal of becoming the largest employer of women in our area. Our goal is continued educational support.
