For Gunilla
Donation protected
Gunilla is a dedicated and passionate champion for victims and survivors of domestic violence. For more than 20 years, Gunilla has worked for domestic violence organisations in Uppsala Sweden, her influence and protection have been felt by countless children exposed to this trauma.
Today we are asking you to help us protect Gunilla’s life. She has been living with cervical cancer for 2 years, chemo and radiation therapy is no longer working, and the tumour continues to grow worse.
Gunilla is a victim of medical malpractice when the facility where she was tested neglected to test her specimen for 6 months. This delay contributed to her suffering psychologically as well as delaying treatment for a significant amount of time.
With the current treatment of palliative chemotherapy, she has only a 5% chance of surviving the next 5 years. Yet a glimmer of hope remains. Immunotherapy could increase Gunilla’s chance of survival to 50%.
To evaluate the effect of the immunotherapy, Gunilla will go through four treatment sessions which will cost a total sum of SEK 306.800 (EUR 29.500, USD 35.000, AUS 48.000). If the treatment is shown to be effective, it will be ongoing for several years. There is a small chance that we can make a case and get the tax-financed health care system to provide for continuing therapy. We are incredibly grateful for anything you can donate to our costs.
Gunilla is a loved wife, mother, daughter, a cherished friend and co-worker and a bringer of hope to so many strangers.
Peace and Love to you during these challenging times.
