Ian’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Howdy all; about a week or so ago I had a 2am date with a patch of gravel that didn’t go in my favor. No foul play, no other motorists, just bad luck and my time to pay the road tax. Without my gear, I’d absolutely be dead. I lost control and went headlong into a steel barrier, flipping through the air before feeling my right thigh explode as I hit a pole; finally sliding to a stop where I figures I was about to meet my Maker. Graciously, I survived with “minimal” injuries: full titanium reconstruction of my right leg, devolved left knee, torn quad tendon, and bisected foot. Plus, enough road rash where my gear burst to last me a lifetime. I’m staring down the barrel of a $35,000 gun, and the prospect of my only mode of transportation now sitting in a mangled heap. Ortho is currently for seeing a month or so recovery, plus Physical Therapy; which isn’t great for someone that stands on their feet 12 hours a shift. I’m not going to try and pretend to be all macho and that I’ll be as right as rain, I am very much in danger of losing my entire livelihood and home as I know it. I’m not one to ask for charity from people I hardly know, but any shred you can spare is something that will help me return to work sooner, rather than later.
As well, 15 bikers in the community were involved in a tragic accident 10 hours after mine; please also consider donating to the DFW Redline Riders that fell, if you are able.
Thank you all for your time,
