Hello, My name is Cindy. Native and lived in Maryland all my life. My husband Tom served in the US Navy for 20 years and retired in 2000 and we were planning on retirement life in 2022 I came down with Covid , September 13, 2021 and Tom on September 20, 2021. Tom spent 16 days on a ventilator in ICU and Covid caused him to go on daily Dialysis. Tom passed on October 9, 2021 then 10 days later one of my sons passed away( not Covid related) To say that my world has been turned upside down is an understatement. After raising 7 children and being home for 24 years, I was forced to rejoin the work force at the age of 61. Due to lingering Covid complications I have had to have (2) Vascular surgeries in (3) week span and i have another scheduled in the upcoming 4 to 6 weeks. Prior going back to work, i had exhausted all of our savings during the first year without Tom while I grieved and tried to figure out life without Tom. Since i initially started part time i didnt qualify for PTO and taking off those 3 weeks for surgery and recovery have put me in a position that i got behind on my rent and the Property management has told me i have till Thursday February 23rd to pay the rent due amount. If not the eviction process starts. I have increased my hours and my daughter Caitlynn is working full- time and going to Community College full time. We are not ready to give up on our home.
