Jason’s Spinal Cord Injury Fund
Donation protected

Although Jason’s spinal cord was not severed, it was severely damaged. His T8 burst and was replaced with a cage, his spine is now fused from T5 to T10, held together by eight inch rods and screws, resulting in incomplete parapalegia. Other injuries including a broken rib and sternum added to the trauma.

Jason will be transported to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta where he will undergo intensive therapy and the real work will begin.
While Jason is doing his rehabilitation, Nan will be learning the skills of caregiver.
The busy but quiet life they live on their small farm in the pan handle of Florida, just got complicated.
We do not yet know what the outcome will be, whether Jason will be walking or not, but we are praying that he will be able to return to the job he loves so much. He is a biologist aid/forester with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in the State of Alabama. Jason’s job keeps him out doors in the woods and forests where the team manages the forests to enhance the habitat for wildlife on three public wildlife management areas.
As you can imagine the costs incurred are going to be substantial. While they do have insurance there are many costs which will not be covered. For instance: it will cost $3500 to transport Jason to the Shepherd Center. Nan will be staying with Jason in Atlanta,
traveling back and forth from the spinal center in Atlanta to their farm so she can oversee the repairs to their home resulting from a fire they incurred in November.

Although these two sweet people who are always willing to help others have experienced such hardship the past two months, they are still filled with happiness, love and hope.
We hope you will consider helping Jason and Nan as they face this long and challenging road together.
