Afroj Nowrin’s Fight for Life – 2nd Battle Against Cancer

A Story of Strength, Loss, and Hope

At just 23 years old, Afroj Nowrin has faced more challenges than most do in a lifetime. She has endured the devastating loss of both parents, battled a rare and aggressive cancer, and now, she finds herself fighting for her life once again.

Nowrin was a bright and ambitious student when her world changed forever. In 2016, while preparing for her school exams, she tragically lost her mother. Then, in 2020, at just 19 years old, she was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer in her throat.

Determined to survive, she underwent a major tumor removal surgery and extensive radiation therapy. The treatment was painful and exhausting, but she remained hopeful. However, just when she thought the worst was over, tragedy struck again—her father passed away in April 2021, leaving her and her younger brother to navigate life alone.

Despite her grief, Nowrin refused to give up. She completed her treatment and slowly began to rebuild her life, believing she had won her battle against cancer.

Cancer Has Returned – Urgent Surgery Needed

For three years, Nowrin remained hopeful. But in December 2024, devastating news shattered her world—her cancer had returned, this time spreading to her lungs. Doctors discovered two tumors—one 6.8 cm in her left lung and another 2.2 cm in her right lung.

She is now undergoing intensive chemotherapy, with the hope that it will shrink the tumors enough to allow surgery. Doctors have advised that after her 2nd or 3rd cycle, lung surgery will be necessary to remove the cancer and stop it from spreading further.

The Urgent Need for £20,000

Lung surgery is a complex and life-saving procedure, but it comes at a huge financial cost. The estimated cost for the surgery alone is at least £20,000, excluding hospital stays, medications, and post-surgical care.

Our family has already exhausted all savings on her previous cancer treatment. Losing both parents and fighting this battle again has placed an immense financial strain on us. But we cannot let money stand in the way of her survival.
