HI! My name is Dee Dee McCabe and I am here because my "dear" friend, and HANDYMAN EXTROIDINARE, Stevo Dereta, needs our help!

Like so many who have crossed paths with Stevo, I quickly learned that once you meet him, you have a friend for life. He is humble, hardworking, and always willing to help anyone—never asking for anything in return. He lives his faith, gives 100% to everyone, and doesn’t know how to say no. And through it all, he carries himself with kindness and a smile.

Recently, while picking out tile and flooring for my bathroom, I noticed something was wrong. Stevo was short of breath, shuffling, and insisting he was fine whenever I asked. True to his nature, he spent an hour helping me before we parted ways, promising to go home and rest. The next day, I got a text from him—sent from a hospital bed. He had suffered a heart attack and was about to undergo coronary artery bypass surgery.

That’s when he told me his biggest worry: he had no money nor insurance to cover his hospitalization. Stevo came here on a green card from Croatia, but never got insurance. Now, after years of giving so much to others, he needs our help.

Let’s rally together and support Stevo the way he has always supported us. Any contribution will help ease the financial burden on him and his family. It’s time for us to give back to the man who has given so much to everyone else.
