Novy Family Rental Fund

All, If you don't know me, I'm Shane Alexander. I work with Keith at CenterPoint Energy in the Damage Prevention Team. Keith has been a significant impact on our organization and our industry. If you know him personally, you know this about him. Simply put...he is a great guy!

I have only known him for a brief time, and I appreciate every opportunity I get to soak up the knowledge he shares. All of us have been watching Keith and Melanie charge together as Keith battles the T lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia attacking his body.

I meet with Keith every week virtually or by phone and get the opportunity to hear his ups and downs. There is no doubt this guy is winning the battle, but I can certainly hear the toll that action takes. He is not weak, but he is tired. I feel charged and empowered when I get off those calls. I want to do something! I know many of you do too.

In our last talk, Keith and I discussed the recent news of his need to have a temporary living situation near the Mayo Clinic while he undergoes a bone marrow transplant. This is a huge undertaking for him and the family. We all can understand this is going to be a financial burden. They have rented a home near the Mayo Clinic while he is going through the transplant and treatments. This rental expense is on top of their mortgage and other general costs back home. Keith said he believes insurance will cover some of those costs, but I don't want Melanie or Keith to even have to think about those costs! Keith is too proud to ask for help. If I were in his shoes, I would be too. However, I asked him to accept our blessing and let us do something to help. He has agreed and thanked us for considering them.

So...here is the request. I want to take all of the rental costs and living concerns during this treatment off the table. I need your help! Can you assist me as we raise enough money to cover the rental for six months and some additional to help with utilities and maybe food? (The rent is approximately $2700 a month)
