Mobile Shower Unit for our homeless
Donation protected
Our coalition is comprised of several community members who are dedicated to helping our homeless through action.
After speaking with several members of our local homeless community, it became clear that there was a dire need for a shower/restroom facility.
Our solution is to turn a mobile trailer into a fully functional shower/ bathroom facility that can be transported and needs only to be hooked up to a regular garden hose.
We are currently in the building stages and have already purchased the trailer. We have retained both a plumber and an electrician who have drawn up the plans on how to fully convert the trailer.
Now, we are in the process of raising the funds needed in order to have the work on the trailer completed.
Our homeless not only need to be clean for things like job interviews, appointments, rehabilitation centers, etc., but sometimes, they also need to be clean to feel like people again.
You know that feeling you get after a really good shower, when the air seems fresher, more alive; when you can breathe a little deeper and even your outlook on life seems cleaner... Well, please, try and imagine how much more powerful that feeling would be if it had been weeks since that shower. Think of the impact this simple act can make.
This is just a small way our neighborhood is starting to let our homeless know that we care about them. We are only just beginning and we can use all the help we can get. No gift is too small. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this…
