Hello, my name is Kevin. My wife Sandra and I own 3 small little dogs. They are our fur babies and they mean the world to us. We recently moved 2 weeks ago to a new neighborhood and home with our fur babies.
On Monday, April 7, 2025, we were walking our 3 fur babies in our new neighborhood, enjoying a nice walk exploring the neighborhood, when our 1 fur baby was violently attacked by an Alaskan Malamute. The attack was so fast, and witnesses that saw it happen said that the Alaskan Malamute was on its porch unleashed while its owners were down below in the driveway of their home doing something in their car. The Alaskan Malamute saw us across the street walking with our 3 little fur babies and immediately started down the stairs and slowly stalked us across the street and down the block before coming up from behind us and jumping on our little girl fur baby. I heard the screams and yelps from her and was tugged down towards the ground as the Alaskan Malamute tried to drag our girl away. I started screaming and trying to get our little girl away from his grip he had on her with his teeth, and he violently started slamming her head first on the concrete until she stopped moving and making any sounds. At that point, the owner started yelling for the dog because I guess she finally realized her dog was gone from her front porch and was attacking our little girl dog. When the Alaskan Malamute ran to his owner, I picked up our little girl dog, and she was motionless, her eyes were wide open, and her tongue was hanging out of her mouth and turning blue. She had passed away, and I started crying even more and screaming. My wife, being a retired animal control officer, wouldn't accept the fact that our fur baby was gone, and she grabbed her from my arms and proceeded to perform CPR on her all the while crying and saying that our baby girl Nova couldn't leave us. I kept telling my wife that our girl was gone and to stop, but she wouldn't, and I am so grateful that she didn't because she was able to resuscitate our fur baby girl. My wife is so amazing, and I am so grateful that her animal control training kicked in and she saved our baby girl.
The police and animal control showed up shortly after my wife had resuscitated her, and the owners of the Alaskan Malamute ran inside and locked their door. The police and animal control insisted that they could not make them come out and give any information. Being that we wanted to get our girl to the VEG emergency animal clinic immediately, we said fine, we have to go and brought our girl to the VEG clinic. The bill just for the visit and treatment that night for our girl is nearly $1000, and there are going to be more visits and bills due to this horrible incident. Being that we do not have any way of getting the people's information that own the dog, we are stuck with having to pay the bills ourselves until we can figure out how to take legal action against the owners of the other dog. Since we just moved 2 weeks ago and spent so much money on the move and everything with that, we cannot afford the expensive emergency clinic and also vet bills for upcoming follow-up visits for our fur baby girl. We have never done this before and asked for any help, but we really need help for our fur baby girl so she can continue to receive the treatment needed for her to recover. Any help is appreciated, and all funds will go towards Nova's treatment and medical bills. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and have a blessed day.
