Hello everyone—my dear friends, and also those who are encountering my story for the first time—

I am Nova, an actor and producer of film and performing arts, Mexican and nomad at heart.

I have been recognized with several international awards, including:

Ibercultura Viva 2021 in the category “Sexual and gender diversity: rights and citizenship,” for my miniseries “Mi pequeño cuerpo prohibido” (Spain), and

Fringe Binge 2024 for “Best Queer Performance” for Los Desaparecidos, at the Fringe Festival (UK).

My work has traveled to multiple film and theater festivals around the world with a very clear mission: to give voice and body to the stories that patriarchy tries to erase, especially those of Latin American dissidents.

This is the second time in my life that I have created a GoFundMe.

The first was in 2022, in an emergency situation: my visa to live in Berlin was denied, even though I was already established there, and I was forced to leave the Schengen area in less than a week. At that time, a beautiful community—people I knew and didn't know—supported me with their love, generosity, and faith. That experience had a profound impact on me and taught me that asking for help is also a form of resistance.

I still carry the emotional scars of that process, but also the strength it gave me. I have not stopped moving, creating, performing my works in different countries, and continuing to fight for my art. Sometimes I don't know how I do it, but I keep betting on myself because I believe in the transformative power of art and in the importance of voices that come from the margins.

Today I am asking for support again, not because of an emergency, but because of a decision to transform myself personally.

Due to my irregular immigration status, supporting myself solely through art has become increasingly difficult.

Many people don't know this, but years ago I was a yoga instructor and massage therapist to pay for my studies in the performing arts. During that time, I discovered a deep connection between the body, mind, and creation.

I have recently reconnected with that part of myself and wish to strengthen it in order to open up a new career path that complements my artistic career.

I have decided to study for a Diploma in Personal Training at OriGym in the United Kingdom.

This course combines the Level 2 and Level 3 certifications required to work as a professional personal trainer and is recognized by all gym chains in the United Kingdom and internationally.

The total cost of the diploma is £1,499, plus study materials and associated expenses, so my goal is to reach £3,000.

With this diploma, I will be able to have a stable and legal job, generate income without relying solely on artistic projects, and, above all, continue creating from a more peaceful and sustainable place.

I know it is difficult to find new solutions to sustain dreams, but with this decision I want to break old paradigms and start a new chapter in my life.

I can never thank life enough, nor the people who have accompanied and supported me on this journey.

I understand that asking for help is also an act of love and empathy, and this time I am doing so from a place of vulnerability, but also from a place of hope.

This step will allow me to be more functional, more present, and more capable of continuing to create opportunities for others.

Because, in the end, I believe that art—like life—has the power to heal, provoke, and remind us that we are still alive.

That's why I keep creating, even though the path is sometimes uncertain—because every story told truthfully can spark something in someone else.
