Help LINDA BARNES fix her flooded home

I am fundraising for my sister Linda and her family who lost over half of their home due to recent flooding from torrential rains in Lantz, Nova Scotia. Linda, Ken, Ashley and Dylan literally fled to safety by wading in waist high deep water from their home with the family pets.

Your kind donations will be needed this week to provide essential items of water, food and toiletries. Your help will provide bottled water for the family and hardworking volunteers that are working long hours on the arduous task of removing debris. The household items submerged under 6 feet of water, to name just a few, include a queen mattress set, bed frame, washer, dryer and hot water tank.

Donations will be also needed to assist with paying for purchase of toothbrushes, toothpaste, antiperspirant, hair combs, bath towels and other personal hygiene items. As well, the funds will be used to help with the mounting costs for many cleaning, anti-mildew and disinfecting supplies and the cost of commercial fans and dehumidifiers to dry and aerate the house - items rented from Bay Rentals and GNS Rentals.

Disaster relief applications take time, are not guaranteed and do not cover all losses. Thus, we will be deeply grateful for any donations and any sharing of this post.
