Hi, I’m Lydia Colmey, adopted from Guatemala. I recently traveled to Guatemala to meet my birthmother, four younger siblings, and grandmother. That’s us in the photo. I’m raising money to provide safety and hope for my family in Guatemala. My birthmother, Elvia, recently purchased a small piece of land in Jalapa with money we sent her during the pandemic. She dreams of building a home for my four siblings who are currently living with her in Guatemala City’s ghetto. My 18 year old brother, Henry, dreams of being a doctor. He will begin 7th grade in February. Money hasn’t always been available to purchase books and supplies, so he hasn’t attended school every year or during the pandemic. My grandmother, Isabel, owns her own home in Jalapa. We dream of making upgrades to her home of a concrete floor, new roof, and plumbing.
Elvia’s Jalapa Home- $9,000
Henry, Walter, Maria, and Madeline’s Education Fund-$5,000
Grandmother Isabel’s Home Upgrades- $3,000
I invite you to join my Guatemala Dream Team!
We’ll send out a monthly newsletter highlighting our project progress.
