Brothers and Sisters who are all in the family of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ,

With love and respect, I feel it important to emphasis that the Derani family's heritage, culture and faiths, have been blessed with the blending across culture boarders, and across many continents. Our beloved Sister and Aunt Nouhad (Nomie) Derani's birthplace and heritage was rooted in Sidon, Lebanon. Midway through her life, she immigrated to Denver, Colorado with several of her siblings in the early 1970's.

As many know, Nouhad devoted her life and was a full and faithful servant of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Our fondest memories of our childhood with our Aunt Nomie, were when we were walking alongside her during her missions with the church, signing for the deaf, and building Arabic speaking churches in Colorado and across the nation.

She received her bachelor's from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and master's degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. She devoted herself to the work and ministry throughout the United States. At the age of 74, Nouhad continues to do the Lord's work through missionary and discipleship.

It is with a heavy heart of sadness to inform you all that Nouhad Reyad Derani had a medical emergency on the 18th of February. She is currently in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) in Patterson, New Jersey. She had extensive bleeding in the brain after a fall from a few flights of stairs. The extensive bleeding in the brain led to a lifesaving operation that was completed on the 19th of February. The operation was successful, and a blessing and miracle from God. The success of the surgery has given us the opportunity to keep her with us as we pray for healing and wisdom from God with making critical life altering decisions.

First and foremost, please pray for Nouhad Derani. Pray for us as we gather as a family to collectively make sound decision for her medical care and life. We need your prayers as we patiently await God's timing to determine if the MRI shows significant brain damage. We need prayers for God to give us the wisdom to decipher if there is a good outcome if she awakes from the coma, and what her recovery, if any, will look like. As Nouhad has guided her life through the gifts and plans from God, we too lift her spirit and recovery into the hands of God.

Before we entrust the wonderful care of the Doctors, we entrust the will of God. We entrust in your faithfulness to be with us during this time and through your prayers for Nouhad and our family.

We also pray that with help from our brothers and sisters we can collect monies for any medical costs as well for any potential funeral and ceremony costs should the Lord decide to take her home.

We appreciate your prayers and any amount of contribution you can make would be a blessing.
