To support our athletes attending the All Star Worlds Competition in Florida, we are WALKING to Worlds - 4275miles!

We are hoping to raise £4275 - £1 per mile!

To achieve this, our athletes will be working together to cover these miles.. walk, run, cycle, swim! Any means necessary!

Any money raised will go towards helping the girls achieve their goal! This includes training kits, hire of training facilities in Florida, entry fees for the competition, travel & transport costs and much more!

Our athletes will be submitting their miles each week to show how hard they are working!

BACKGROUND TO NOTTS HOTSHOTS

NHCD is a community focussed programme based in Watnall, Nottingham. Founded with a passion for creating opportunities for young people, NHCD provides cheerleading and dance training for athletes of all ages and abilities and from diverse backgrounds in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.

The school currently has 223 athletes who train up to 5 times a week and compete regularly at National Cheer & Dance competitions. Over the years, our athletes have achieved great success at regional, national and international level, but the proudest achievements within NHCD go far beyond the competition results. NHCD believes in building confidence, resilience, teamwork and lifelong friendships through sport.

As a club, the goal is simple - to help young people grow, believe in themselves and reach their potential, both on and off the competition floor.

Unlike many mainstream sports, cheerleading receives very little external funding and we recognise that due to financial and social constraints, some athletes who have won this bid may not be able to participate in these incredible opportunities.

We rely on fundraising and external support to:

1. Ensure that all athletes are given equal opportunities

2. Prevent segregation in the school

3. Bring local communities together

4. Promote a healthy lifestyle and positive mental health through sporting opportunities

5. Give all athletes the opportunity to strive for excellence
