The Will Grossman Photography Award
UPDATE: For the past four years, the Will Grossman Memorial Photography Award has showcased and rewarded some of the most interesting and ambitious work being done by North Carolina photographers. We'd like to keep the Award going for another year, and have plans to host the award again at the Through This Lens Gallery on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

SOME BACKGROUND: As most of you know, my father Will, who passed away on April 7, 2012 was an extremely talented photographer. Earlier that year, a retrospective of his work was on display at Through This Lens photo gallery in Durham, NC. Around that time, he had a discussion with the gallery owner, Roylee Duvall, about sponsoring a photo contest for local photographers. Sadly, he did not get to see this idea come to fruition. However, his friends Rose Mills and Jeff Collins, with the support of our family, have honored my father's memory and his particular love for this art form by establishing The Will Grossman Photography Award.
We think Papa would have been very pleased to know that his name will be associated with this artistic recognition of local photographers.
Our goal is to be able to perpetuate this annual photography contest for many years to come. The contest will be administrated by Roylee and, of course, donors will be notified when the winners are announced and the work is displayed at Through This Lens.
